Ordinarily what a dentist does is use a peroxide agent on your teeth and then goes over them with a laser light in order to enhance the whitening effects.
There have been extensive test done with teeth whitener at home products where those participating put peroxide agents on their teeth. Then half of their teeth were exposed to a laser light and the other half was not.
Some experts then did a comparison of the two sides of those participating smile and they noticed very little to no difference at all.
